Our Team

The Avenue Dental team of dentists and staff provide patients the best professional care with expertise and dedication. Our office is designed to provide a relaxing, comfortable environment where patients receive high level of dental treatments using state-of-the-art equipment. Our goal is to make each visit a positive experience.

Our practice provides all dental treatments from routine hygiene visits to dental implants or cosmetic procedures. Our mission is to provide friendly, professional and complete dental services that encourage our patients to take an active role in caring for their teeth and gums. Our professional team is approachable, helpful, attentive and caring throughout the entire patient visit. The dedicated dentists, Dr. Anton Brasko, Dr. Andrej Brasko, Dr. Viviana Steinberg; hygienist Lydia; receptionist Mercedes; and dental assistants Colina, Marlene, Monika, have numerous years of experience in the office.

Dr. Anton Brasko

Dr. Anton Brasko is known for his love of people and dentistry. He is passionate about patients' trust and understanding of the dental care they are getting at Avenue Dental. His ability to put anxious patients at ease is well-known; he enjoys seeing how once fearful patients look forward to jumping into the dental chair. He received his Doctorate degree in Dental Medicine first in 1972 in Europe, and later he successfully completed his Canadian dental studies and received his Doctorate degree in Dental Surgery. For several years, he was the sole dental care professional for several Northern Manitoba communities. He then became proud owner of the Avenue Dental Corporation in 2003. His objective is to provide the highest quality of dental care utilizing the most advanced procedures.

Dr. Andrej Brasko

Dr. Andrej Brasko finds great satisfaction in his work. He's always enjoyed working with his hands and has a life-long love of sciences. Dr. Andrej received his Dental Medicine Doctor degree from the University of Manitoba, Faculty of Dentistry in 2009. He believes that the best dental care is only possible when the dentist is highly educated and trained. He has a thirst for advancement of technology in dentistry, and specializes in root canal therapy, laser treatment and implants beside his expertise in full scope of general dentistry. His compassionate and gentle nature defines his approach to dentistry and makes his patients feel comfortable and relaxed. He makes sure his patients understand the advantages, disadvantages, costs, and time requirements for each dental procedure. Dr. Andrej also works part time at the University of Manitoba as a Dental Instructor.

Dr. Viviana Steinberg

Dr. Viviana Steinberg has many years of experience in different areas of general dentistry from preventative and restorative dentistry to surgical and cosmetic dentistry. She was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she obtained her first dental degree and practiced for eight years. After she moved to Winnipeg, she worked in the dental field as a dental assistant and laboratory technician until she graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry with a Doctorate of Medical Dentistry in 2015. Dr. Steinberg says that she loves the profession so much that she actually did the career twice! Committed to excellence, she strives to provide the highest quality dentistry. She takes great pride in helping patients overcome their dental fears and knowing her patients look forward to future appointments with her. Dr. Steinberg is fluent in both English and Spanish.

Lydia

Lydia is our Dental Hygienist. She loves educating patients about their oral health. She prides herself on being a gentle but thorough hygienist who ensures that every patient has the best experience during their treatment. She is an energetic and outgoing person who always looks at the brighter side of things. Lydia loves her job and enjoys making staff and patients laugh with her great sense of humor. Very caring and precise when providing dental hygiene treatment, with a tender touch and calm disposition, she makes her patients' visits comfortable. Fluently bilingual, she provides service to French-speaking clients.

Mercedes

Mercedes, the Receptionist, is 'the voice' of Avenue Dental on the phone and the smiling face that greets patients as they enter. Patients can trust Mercedes to answer all their questions regarding scheduling, dental procedures, insurance plans, and payment options. Her positive energy and lively personality create a pleasant experience for all. She loves building relationships with the staff and patients by being caring and friendly, and thus creates a comfortable and relaxed environment. Being a receptionist takes a special talent to be a master of all trades and Mercedes does it with style and grace.

Marlene

Marlene is a Level II Dental Assistant and has been with Avenue Dental for the longest time to welcome patients with her gentle caring voice. She takes pride in ensuring that patients have a positive experience. Whether she is helping adults, children or those with high anxiety about dental procedures, she is an expert in creating comfortable dental visits. She enjoys working and continually educating herself in the dental field. Marlene also passes on her wealth of experience and knowledge to students in dental training programs. Her focus is on sterilization protocol and keeping the office environment clean, organized and comfortable.

Colina

Colina - Level II Dental Assistant - is a positive and energetic team member and plays a pivotal role in ensuring an excellent dental experience for our patients. Her quiet and observant manner helps put patients at ease in the dental chair. She enjoys interacting with patients and making their experience positive and comfortable and assuring they understand their treatment. Colina is enthusiastic about oral health care and how it relates to patients' overall health. She continually expands her expertise by attending courses and lectures. Her philosophy is to treat everyone as she would like to be treated. She has a great work ethic and is known for her efficiency and caring.

Monika

Monika - Level II Dental Assistant/Administration - is caring, friendly and always eager to assist. Her clinical knowledge, attention to detail and versatile skills led to her dual role of Dental Assistant and Office Administrator. She embraces new ideas quickly to deliver the highest level of performance in a progressive office. Her compassion, dedication, gentle and calm demeanor have made her thrive in a team-oriented environment. Many years of experience enable her to answer questions about dental procedures, insurance, pricing and payments. Monika's knowledge and expertise go far beyond her job requirements and she is always willing to go the extra mile to help.
